Jennifer Sharp, Mentor of The Year: Why Mentorship Is at the Heart of Everything I Do
This week, I had the incredible honor of receiving the Mentor of the Year Award from LeTip International.
This is a nationwide award, and I do not take that lightly. To be recognized among business owners and leaders across the country is truly humbling. As I approach my third anniversary with Sacramento Midtown LeTip, I have been reflecting on what mentorship has meant to me, not only within my chapter or the organization as a whole, but throughout my personal and professional journey.
Being part of LeTip has allowed me to grow in ways I never expected. It has helped me grow personally, professionally, and as a leader. One of the things I love most about LeTip is the opportunity to support other small and medium-sized business owners. We all know entrepreneurship is rewarding, but it can also be challenging, lonely, and full of lessons that are not always easy to learn on your own.
Mentorship matters because none of us are meant to do this alone.
For me, mentorship is not about having all the answers. It is about being willing to listen, share, guide, encourage, and walk alongside someone as they grow. It is about seeing the potential in others and helping them believe in it too.
That same heart for mentorship is also what sets me apart professionally.
My passion for Red Light Therapy and wellness is deeply personal. Because of all I have been thru in my medical healing journey, my research, my lived experience, and everything I have had to learn along the way, I bring more than a service to my clients. I bring understanding. I bring compassion. I bring perspective. And I bring a genuine desire to help people feel supported in a non-judgmental environment.
When I was healing, I did not have someone to talk to who truly understood what I was going through. I did not have someone beside me saying, “I’ve been there. Let’s look at this together.” That experience changed me. It shaped the way I work with the people in my life.
At Enlighten Red Light Therapy Center, I care about the full picture. That is why I believe in an initial consultation. I want to understand where each client is starting from, what challenges they are facing, what goals they have, and what kind of support they need. Every journey is different, and every person deserves to be seen as an individual.
I love being a guide for my clients. I love tracking their progress, celebrating their wins, and helping them notice the changes that may otherwise be easy to overlook. Whether someone is coming in for pain, inflammation, recovery, skin health, energy, mental health, emotional health, sleep, or overall wellness, I want them to feel like they have someone on their team.
Because sometimes, having someone who has “been there” makes all the difference.
This award means so much to me because mentorship is truly part of who I am. It shows up in my business relationships, in my LeTip community, as I raise my son, and in the way I care for my clients every day.
Thank you to LeTip International for this incredible recognition. Thank you to my LeTip chapter, Midtown Sacramento, for being such an important part of my growth. And thank you to every client and fellow business owner who has trusted me to be part of your journey.
I am honored, grateful, and more inspired than ever to continue mentoring, supporting, and guiding others.
